Measurement Guide

All Anderson sod is sold by the square yard. When the area in square feet is determined divide by 9 and round to next full number to get square yards.

It’s always a good plan to add an extra 5% to total for wastage. Better to have more, than not enough to finish the job.

For more complex yards it’s best to draw the area and break down into sections for measurement. Then total the areas measured in square feet and divide by 9 to get total square yards needed.

Conversion Table

9 Square Feet = 1 Square Yard
1 Square Foot = .0929 Meters Squared
1 Square Yard = .8361 (or .84) Meters Squared
1 Square Meter = 1.196 (or 1.2) Square Yard

Area of a circle = 3.14 x Radius x Radius or Ï€r^2

Area of a rectangle = Base x Height

Area of a Square = Base x Height

Area of a Triangle = Base x Height / 2
